Diversity Statement
Committee members recognize that diversity includes, but is not limited to, age, race, gender, ethnicity, sexual orientation, gender expression, sexual identity, ability, language, family circumstances, physical abilities, income, access to resources, religion, geographic area and cultural backgrounds.
Purpose
The purpose of the Diversity Committee is to work collaboratively to advocate and support diversity education in our school community and curriculum, to encourage opportunities for students, staff, faculty and family to grow in their own understanding of diversity, and to promote equality of opportunity for all to be contributing community members.
Mission Statement
Campbell County Middle School is committed to creating a safe, caring and mutually respectful environment within our school community so that all students, families and staff feel welcomed, valued and supported. By supporting diverse learning environments, we can improve learning outcomes and prepare our students for a diverse and global workforce and society.
The Committee’s shared goals are:

Create an environment that enables staff and students to feel empowered, valued, respected, and safe.

Help foster students sense of belonging.

Cultivate a diverse and inclusive school community.

Raise awareness of individual differences.
To achieve these goals, the Committee will:

Promote ideas and events to further the spirit of diversity and inclusion.

Engage all staff and students in conversations and trainings about diversity and inclusion.

Support in identifying, reviewing and implementing curricula, initiatives and efforts that best support students.

Promote participation in all activities supporting diversity in our school community.

Sharing diversity information with and offer programs to parents and community.
